Our History

The owners prior to creating Schreiner Customer Stairs:
Melvin worked and was part owner at Seneca Lumber and Millwork Inc., which was the oldest millwork house in Ohio.  While working at Seneca Millwork he held such positions as engineer, estimator and president of the company.

Greg was also employed by Seneca Millwork. He worked at Seneca Millwork for 17 years as a cabinet maker, stair builder and superintendent.

Wayne gained his work experience in both engineering and management positions in the automotive and ready to assemble (RTA) furniture business.

Creation of Schreiner Custom Stairs and Millwork Inc.

On August 1, 1992, Melvin and his son Greg decided to combine their experience in management and fine wood craftsmanship, and start their own company.  Both Melvin and Greg wanted to carry on the custom millwork and stair building that Seneca Millwork was noted for work wide.  In 1996 Melvin's other son Wayne, joined the family business.  Melvin, Wayne and Greg are all owners of the business.

Besides being noted for their circular and straight stairs, they have a fine reputation for all types of custom millwork including custom doors, special windows.  They have done some elaborate custom work on church windows, furniture, entrance frames and matching of old style millwork and trim of any design.
